About the work we offer
Please note: We work mostly with children providing our play equipment for birthdays and celebrations. Smoking is not permitted in any of our vehicles, at our base or any delivery/pick-up venue's or destinations. Smoking is allowed during breaks and off-site.
Please also note: Anybody that works with us must under-go a DBS Check (The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps us make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA)). It is a requirement of our business that all team members under-go this check.
Our main season for bouncy castle hire is March to October, however we operate 365 days a year. We have two types of positions available: Driver and Non-Driver. Each role is explained below:
Driver Role:
The driver takes most responsibility for the safe arrival of both himself / herself and any passengers travelling with them. They also take main responsibility for the correct set-up of any inflatable hired through our business including final checks before departing any venue or hire location. It is solely the job of the driver to do daily van checks before leaving base, ensure the van is carrying all equipment required for the safe set-up of all inflatables stacked safety for transportation and complete all jobs listed for completion as supplied by us. Drivers should be a minimum of 25 years or over and have had a valid clean licence held for at-least 6 years. They should have a general knowledge of the North East, be confident in driving medium to long wheel-based vans and be able to lift heavy castles using correct methods of lifting (training will be given, whilst all castles are transported on a trolley, you will need to be able to lift a rolled castle from the ground to the standing-up position). Anyone with back problems or who is deemed not to be in suitable condition to lift heavy items such as these shouldn't apply. This is a key part of the job and when castles are wet, they become even heavier.
Non-Driver Role:
The non-driver role is equally as important as any driver. Your responsibility is to assist any jobs that need completing along with the driver to successfully delivery, set-up and pick-up any inflatable we hire. You'll also be the key person to interact with the customer, introduce both yourself and driver and follow-up on any paperwork that needs completing to sign-off the task. Both you and the driver should have a general knowledge of how a bouncy castle inflates and maintains it's inflation (training given). You should be there at hand to double check all final checks made by the driver and assist where needed.
